But the college crowd is not the only group that chooses my favorite beach to vacation during the months of March and April.
Vacation rentals are booked with families and their kids, ranging from elementary school to high school, as well as the "independent" collegiate types. And, of course, the city is hopping.
Due to its somewhat isolated location far from the over-popular tourist attractions of south and central Florida, Panama City Beach remains a location where all ages can enjoy the carefree experiences of Spring Break.
There's plenty of public access to its beautiful beaches, and you can actually find affordable lodging right on the beach.
While visiting Panama City Beach during Spring Break, everyone will want to spend time on the glistening beaches and in the gentle surf to see who's who and where they're from. Make some new friends, pen pals, or someone to just hang out with at the beach.
If your kiddos are a bit older, they'll probably want to take in some concerts and other events where little brother or sister cannot tag along.
But don't worry, the "little people" will enjoy the Children's Firefly Festival and Annual Easter Egg Hunt during the month of April.
And for those ages in between (and older!), there's the St. Andrew's Shrimp and Oyster Festival!
Spring Break is a time for everyone in Panama City Beach. Bring your sunscreen, your beach and party clothes, and your happy-go-lucky attitude!
